Carlin Motorsport is the team where Carlos Sainz Jr. will take part in the British Formula 3 International Series championship during 2012.
Carlin Motorsport was founded in 1996, and completed its first
British Formula 3 entire season in 1999, with the F1 driver Narain Karthikeyan.
Team could win six races that year, that evidences Carlin's potential,
the most laureate team in the british F3 championship. That is one of
the most successful teams in single-seater competitions, save for F1.
Carlin has won 215 races along its twelve years of history, achieving
seven British F3 titles and playing a very important role in the way to
F1 for riders like Takuma Sato, Anthony Davidson, Nico Rosberg, Robert
Kubica, Sebastian Vettel, Jaime Alguersuari and, in the last years, the
recent newcomers of the Scuderia Toro Rosso team, like Daniel Ricciardo
amd Jean-Eric Vergne. In November 2009 the team went into a new stage
with the merger with Capsicum Motorsport Limited, a company created by
the passioned about motorsport, Grahame Chilton.
