Web oficial de Carlos Sainz Jr

Good weekend for Carlos Sainz in the second meeting of the season of the GP3 Series, held yesterday in the Circuit of Valencia. After a difficult qualifying session, with some problems and a red flag that made Saturday a challenging day, the two races completed today were a completely different story. In the first one, the Spanish driver started in eight positions and, after a great start, he managed to reach the fifth place, where he remained until crossing the finishing line. In addition, he clocked the fastest lap and got two extra points for it.

In the second race, after reversing the classification of the first eight places from the first race to determine the grill line up, Carlos started fourth and he took the third position following a good move. Once again, in the first laps the Spaniard managed to complete the fastest lap and he finished the race in third place, which gave him the change to climb to the podium for the first time in the second meeting of this Championship. With these results, Carlos is the second driver in amount of points gained at this meeting.

Carlos Sainz: "After a difficult qualifying session, I'm happy about the way things developed today. We tried our best after what happened at the qualifying session, so we finished on a good note. Stepping up on to the podium and completing two consecutive fast laps proves that the work we are doing with the team is going in the right direction. Now I'm looking forward to Silverstone, a circuit that I particularly like."
